A Zebra Crossing for Booker Avenue

Liverpool City Council is refusing to spend £50,000 on a Zebra Crossing for Booker Avenue until someone is killed or seriously injured.

Liverpool City Council is refusing to spend £50,000 on a Zebra Crossing for Booker Avenue until someone is killed or injured.

It is now 10 years since Liverpool Council announced plans for a pedestrian crossing by the Co-Op on Booker Avenue.

The scheme was later cancelled to save money, after the council decided to spend £72 Million on rebuilding the Strand and Lime Street instead.

Allerton Councillor Andrew Makinson and Springwood Lib Dem campaigner James Thornhill have launched a petition to support local residents & parents calling for a Zebra Crossing to be installed.

“This busy school route has again been left for months without a lollipop warden. The only safe solution is to build a proper crossing at this junction,” says Andrew.
