Allerton Road Flooding

Stop the Flooding, Clean the Gullies!

Sadly, heavy rain in Liverpool leaves so many of our roads flooded, causing disruption and delay. Even worse, this flooding can have serious consequences, from property damage to injury and death.

The inquest into the death of Elaine and Philip Marco on Queen's Drive was a wake-up call and did not make easy reading for Liverpool City Council.

The Liberal Democrats want the council to take more preventive action to stop flooding from getting too bad in Liverpool. That's why we are calling for the gullies to be inspected at least twice a year to ensure they are free of rubbish and debris, and let water drain off. Whilst it won't solve the problem of flooding entirely, it will make a huge difference.

Sign the petition today - let's stop the flooding and clean the Gullies!

I/We the undersigned call on Liverpool City Council to routinely check and clear all gullies at least twice a year to prevent and minimise flooding on our roads.
