Campaigns

Some of Andrew Makinson's recent campaigns in Allerton Ward.

Mather Avenue

Travelling along Mather Avenue is like riding a rollercoaster. It’s not just potholes, large parts of the road surface has become uneven or subsided. Andrew Makinson has launched a petition calling for Liverpool City Council to resurface Mather Avenue.

Reopen Mather Avenue shops
Reopen the Mather Avenue shops

In July 2023, Liverpool City Council evicted the majority of shops on the Mather Avenue parade in a dispute over rent arrears. 18 months later, we seem no closer to seeing the shops reopen. Andrew Makinson has been leading calls for the council to get these shops reopened for our local community. Please sign the petition below.

West Allerton Station
Make West Allerton Step Free

West Allerton Station is now the only station in Liverpool without step-free access no plan in place to make it accessible. In 2022, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority submitted bids for government funding to make another 10 stations step free. West Allerton was left off this list. Please sign Andrew's petition to make West Allerton step free.

Mossley Hill station
Mossley Hill Station - Close the gap!

For years, passengers have struggled to get use Mossley Hill station due to the large step onto the train from platform 2. This is particularly difficult for older passengers, families with young children, and those with disabilities. Many have simply given up using the station, and are forced to drive or catch a bus to other stations. Sign Andrew's petition to "close the gap."
