John Hyland

John Hyland for Liverpool Garston

Co-founder of LCR Pride Foundation, John Hyland is the Lib Dem hopeful in Liverpool Garston. Growing up in Wavertree, Hyland cares deeply about the city and wants to give residents in Garston a fresh alternative to both Labour and the Conservatives. He has deep ties to lots of local charities and community organisations - he is a former co-chair of Liverpool Pride, and has recently been working closely with Sahir House. Hyland was a Councillor in Northern Ireland for the Alliance Party but now is back in his home city standing up for the people Labour has taken for granted.

Rebecca Turner

Rebecca Turner for Liverpool Riverside

Waterfront Councillor Rebecca Turner is challenging the City Centre seat of Liverpool Riverside. Cllr Turner has made a big splash as the youngest councillor on the City Council speaking out on sewage dumping in the River Mersey, as well as increased and improved public transport along Liverpool’s waterfront. As a scientist and young female councillor, Turner is always looking to break the glass ceiling and empower women.

Sean Cadwallader

Sean Cadwallader for Liverpool Walton

Sean Cadwallader is contesting the Liverpool Walton seat. Originally from Wavertree, Cadwallader has worked with Alder Hey CAMHS in the past to raise awareness of mental health issues in Liverpool. He is another young face on the ballot paper for the Lib Dems, and, like the overwhelming majority of people his age, he is sick of the Conservative Government and wants to see a change. Cadwallader doesn’t see Starmer’s Labour as a safe pair of hands but instead thinks that the Lib Dems will work hardest for residents in Walton.

Rob McAlister-Bell

Rob McAllister-Bell for Liverpool Wavertree

Mossley Hill Councillor Rob McAllister-Bell is standing for the newly revised Liverpool Wavertree constituency.  Since being elected in 2021, Cllr McAllister-Bell has been very vocal in the Council Chamber, recently sharing a personal account of his mother’s homelessness in her youth during a debate about the same issue. He has been robust in his debate with the Labour Party and is not afraid to stand up against them and call out their shortcomings. If elected as the new MP for Wavertree, McAllister-Bell pledges to work hard all year round for residents to make sure they aren’t overlooked.

Kayleigh Halpin

Kayleigh Halpin for West Derby

Born and bred in West Derby, Kayleigh Halpin is Liverpool through and through. She's currently finishing her undergraduate degree in Maths from the University of Liverpool and regularly gives back to her community. She is a volunteer maths tutor at a local school and does widening participation work with the university promoting maths as a higher education option for disadvantaged students. Halpin made her electoral debut in the Fazakerley East By-Election standing up for residents against a complacent Labour administration in the Town Hall. She’s ready to take on Labour and says it’s time that people in West Derby have visible local MP standing up for them.
