Residents across West Derby are shocked that suspended Labour Councillor Colette Goulding is still collecting her taxpayer-funded allowance and are calling for her to step down amid her involvement in the Big Help Charity Scandal.

Local people have made it clear that their patience has run out, calling for “Goulding to go”.

Labour only suspended Goulding recently after over a year of disgraceful articles with alarming claims were published by the Liverpool Post and the BBC - including that Goulding declared herself bankrupt, found herself under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office for alleged "fraud, mismanagement and misuse of funds”, and is renting a £2,700 per month apartment in Gibraltar.

The revelations have shaken residents' trust in the councillor, and now many are calling for her to resign once and for all.

West Derby resident, Kayleigh Halpin, said:

“I’m just taken aback by how long this has gone on for. Residents deserve better than this. They deserve a councillor who is working hard in their community. I think Cllr Goulding should do the right thing and resign!”

Commenting, Leader of the Liverpool Liberal Democrats, Cllr Carl Cashman said:

“I have to say I am astounded by how long the Labour Party has let this drag on. They would have known about this long before the Post went public with the story. As Lib Dems, we care about the communities we represent. I want the residents of West Derby Muirhead to have a committed local councillor, and they don’t at the moment. It’s simple, she needs to resign.”

Cllr Colette Goulding MUST RESIGN NOW!

“We the undersigned believe that Cllr Colette Goulding’s position is no longer tenable and she must resign.”
