Let’s fix broken street lights in Everton!
You shouldn’t be left in the dark waiting weeks, if not months, for streetlights to be fixed in your street, but it’s happening here in our community.
The problem has got so bad that I appeared on the front page of the Liverpool Echo demanding action from Liverpool City Council to fix the broken streetlights in our area.
Residents regularly tell me that these broken streetlights leave large sections, and sometimes even whole roads, shrouded in darkness – and they don’t feel safe.
People shouldn't feel trapped in their own homes, scared to go out, because the council won’t fix the broken streetlights.
Streetlights are just one of the over a hundred issues I’ve personally reported to the council over the last 14 months – like blocked grids, potholes and overgrown trees. It’s shocking how hard I have to fight to get the council to act on problems here in Everton – they often only act after I’ve called them out online.
Residents deserve better – clean streets, smooth roads, and lit streets but that won’t happen as long as we have a Labour Council that continues to ignore us.

I/we, the undersigned, support calls for action to fix broken streetlights in our area to improve public safety as soon as possible.
