Over the last few months it has become clearer than ever that we live in a place with an incredibly
active and caring community. We’ve been so pleased to see people pull together to help others get
through a difficult time, and we have all done our bit and made our sacrifices - so thank you!
As your local Councillors we have been busier than ever trying to make sure people get the support
they need. Working with businesses and organisations such as Hugamug, MSB Woolton FC,
Strawberry Field, churches and local people, we have funded and supported a food and supply bank,
based at the Hugamug Cafe on Gateacre Brow, helping over 300 vulnerable and isolated families with
food and supplies.
We must give special thanks to Emma and Natalie at Hugamug who have led the team with deliveries
as well as helping with the collection of hundreds of prescription and shopping requests from local
We are hoping to keep this going as long as possible. If you, or someone you know, needs

We have also been helping local businesses get the support they need to survive and providing help
and advice to those struggling due to losing work or being placed on furlough. We’ve teamed up with
the Citizens Advice Bureau in Liverpool and have been offering support on welfare and other benefits
during this time.
We now beginning to look to the future and how best we can support Woolton and Gateacre. With
this letter you’ll find a survey asking your opinions on what the next step of recovery from Coronavirus
should look like for our community.
