Following their Annual Group Meeting the Liberal Democrats have announced their team within the Council for this council year with Cllr Richard Kemp being re-elected as opposition leader alonside a 7 member strong shadow cabinet.
Cllr Richard Kemp says, “I am honoured to have been elected by the Group to be its Leader for the seventh year. Every year it gets easier and will continue to get easier as we continue to grow. We are a small team but united and highly experienced and I am sure will make an impression within the Council. In particular we accept the role of holding Mayor Anderson and the Labour Party to account. The fact that we are now on every committee will enable us to peer under every stone and join every dot to find out the truth about decisions being made within the City Council.
"Of course, our first responsibility is to our constituents but as part of the City Council we would all be pleased to work with anyone who has concerns within the portfolios that we have adopted for citywide actions.”
