Allerton Priory was dubbed “One of Liverpool’s most beautiful green spaces,” before Redrow’s bulldozers rolled in to build 100 exclusive luxury houses on the 33 acre site.
Despite objections from over 3000 local residents, and local Liberal Democrat councillor Mirna Juarez, the development got the green light.
Residents slammed the council for failing to put up a fight at the planning inquiry.
Councillor Juarez said: “I believe had the planning inspector been provided with the right figures and information the development wouldn’t have won.”
The Save Allerton Priory group are raising funds for a Judicial Review to save the site & to protect our Green Wedge. You can donate here
Meanwhile the Labour council are going to the High Court to appeal against a judges decision to halt the sale of 13 acres of Calderstones Park.
If the council wins, it could be open season for more development on Liverpool’s green wedge.
