| Eldridge gets a grilling for Democracy Week! |
Church Ward Lib Dem Cllr Colin Eldridge was grilled by pupils from Childwall Sports College as part of Democracy Week. Cllr Eldridge, chair of Wavertree Neighbourhood Committee, is visiting a number of schools in the Wavertree area to talk to pupils on any subject they want to. The first such visit was to Childwall where he was questioned by year 10 and year 12 pupils for 2 hours. There were no rules and Colin knew none of the questions in advance. Colin said, “I really enjoyed talking to Childwall pupils who asked me about a whole range of subjects. They asked me about an amazing variety of subjects from Liverpool’s new stadium to facilities for skateboarders and from the development of the waterfront to my chances of being prime minister!” Headteacher of Childwall Sports College Dewi Phillips said, “I know how much our pupils really enjoyed engaging Colin on matters of importance to them. It was a really useful way of bringing politics to life and helping them understand the decision-making process in the city.”
