|
The Liberal Democrats in Liverpool have launched a campaign to save Post Offices in the City from closing.
The Labour Government has already allowed hundreds of local Post Offices to close. Now many more fact the axe, according to Post office Chief Executive Adam Crozier. Lib Dem City Council Leader Warren Bradley said: "Post Offices are a vital lifeline for communities, and many people, particularly the elderly and the vulnerable are already suffering from the closures. This can only get worse if more Post office close, as this government is causing to happen." Liverpool Liberal Democrats have launched a petition to Save the Post Offices. Petition forms are being delivered across the City. Warren Bradley added "We have asked Labours five MPs, here in Liverpool, to put local communities above politics. However they didn't back us earlier over the tram and so £170 million was lost for the City I would like to see them standing up for local Post Offices and back our campaign to save them"
