Lib Dem Council helps families get a foot on property ladder
Liverpool City Council is helping families to get a foot on the property ladder.
It is proposing to sell a 1.6 acre plot of land at Woodlee Road to Riverside Housing Association allowing them to take advantage of a massive £2.6million Housing Corporation grant.

Riverside plan to build 20 shared ownership homes plus another 30 affordable homes, including bungalows for the elderly, on the site.

Liverpool City Council's executive member for Housing, Lib Dem Cllr Flo Clucas, said: "We are committed to helping provide first-rate affordable social housing in Liverpool.

"Local authorities can sell at less than the best price if this will help housing associations build more affordable housing."

Many of the new properties will house people leaving soon to be demolished nearby maisonettes.
