No return to the bad old days

Local people haven’t forgotten what life in Liverpool used to be like under  Labour.

Many local people haven’t forgotten what life in Liverpool used to be like under the old Labour council. Labour made us pay the highest Council Tax in Britain for the worst services. They couldn’t even empty the bins and rubbish piled up in the streets.

Liverpool’s name was dragged through the mud and investment and jobs were driven away. No one wants to go back to the bad old days under Labour.

Today Liverpool is back on its feet and is going from strength to strength under the Lib Dems. The city is being transformed before our eyes.

The Lib Dems have brought investment, jobs and hope back to our city. Housing is being improved across the city. There has been a huge investment to improve parks and leisure facilities.

16,000 new jobs in just 9 years, and the lowest increase in Council Tax anywhere in the country in the last decade.

Cllr Frank Doran said, “The Liberal Democrats have shown faith and confidence in Liverpool and its people. They talk the city up because they are proud of Liverpool.”

“There is a lot still to do, but the city is heading in the right direction at last.”

“A Labour win on 1st May would mean a return to the bad old days and a £144 hike in council tax bills. No one wants to see that happen.”
