£12million boost for local groups

SEVENTY NINE local community groups in Liverpool are to receive a £12 million boost thanks to the Lib Dem Council. The cash is aimed at the most deprived communities.

The money will help support the most vulnerable.

Projects to be funded include help for victims of domestic violence and support to older people to stay active.

Croxteth campaigner Steve Geoghegan said, “This money comes on top of the £7.69million for youth projects across the City.”

“Liverpool is one of the best councils in Britain for the amount of money it spends on giving young people a better deal.”
