Liverpool has benefited from an astonishing 16, 000 new jobs in just 9 years says a new report into the City’s revival.

Huge projects such as the Liverpool One shopping development and the popular new Arena and are singled out for praise.

Liverpool has changed beyond recognition physically, economically and culturally according to Professor Michael Parkinson of John Moores University.

He says “After a very bad patch, Liverpool is having an amazing renaissance. The scale of the transformation of its city centre is remarkable.”

Liverpool One’s first flagship store opens in May. It is the biggest new shopping development in western Europe and will create 5,000 new jobs for local people.

With visitor numbers already topping half a million people a year, these and other new facilities like the Cruise Liner terminal can only add to Liverpool’s success.

Local campaigner and Liverpool Echo Enterprise Champion of 2007 Gary Millar said, “These changes have been delivered by the Liberal Democrat council who ended years of decline under Labour.”

“Under Labour , there was next to no investment in the city.”

“Now Liverpool is changing for the better and people are across the city are benefiting from it.”
