Another Lib Dem promise kept as the Picton Pool opens.

Liverpool’s fantastic new Olympic Pool & Sports Centre on Wellington Road is now open. 

 It’s Merseyside’s first  Olympic sized pool - & one of the best in the UK

 Andrew Makinson says, “Our new pool is another great Lib Dem investment in our area.
And our free leisure pass for kids gives them something healthy and fun to do.”

Wavertree Lib Dem Shadow MP Colin Eldridge and local Lib Dem Councillors Warren Bradley and Andrew Makinson fought to get our new Swimming Pool and leisure centre built.

Incredibly, the Labour Government tried to divert lottery money from our pool to the London Olympics. And the local Labour Party claims our new pool’s a “waste of money.”

 FULL adult membership of the sports centre costs £26.50 a month. Swims cost £3 for adults, £1.10 concessions. Gym use costs £4.30 and £2.10 for  concessions.

Children under 17 get to use all council leisure centres for free under a Lib Dem scheme.

Opening hours for the pool are 8am to 7pm weekdays, 8.30am to 4pm weekends, with the gym 7am to 10pm
